The Centre for Engineering and Design Education

One to One support

CEDE can work with colleagues in the Engineering and Design Schools on an individual basis to provide help and advice with writing funding bids. Team members have also acted in the role of “critical friend” to a number of projects and initiatives, and have mentored a number of staff undertaking the Associate Teaching Course.

Recently, Dr Sarah Bamforth of CEDE worked closely with Dr Zulfikar Adamu of the School of Civil and Building Engineering to develop a feedback mechanism to track the impact on students’ careers of an extra-curricular BIM workshop that Zulfikar developed for final year students. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an important development in today’s building industry, and Zulfikar is keen to prepare students and enhance their employability. Zulfikar won the Loughborough University Agent of Change Award, nominated by students, for this work, and says to Sarah “…thank you for your encouragement, advice and support…I am immeasurably grateful.”
