After attaining a first class honours degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Loughborough University, Huzaifa was offered an internship position particularly to enhance student engagement with the Centre and its activities.
As a student, he participated in the UNITECH programme, doing his academic year abroad at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He studied a range of engineering and management modules which included Energy Aware Computing and Idea Evaluation & Feasibility Studies. This was followed by a summer placement at Vorwerk Elektrowerke GmbH & Co. KG, Wuppertal, Germany. At this R&D division, he researched and developed an electronic circuit prototype with software to detect different floors for a vacuum cleaner.
After completing his UNITECH year, he founded the Local UNITECH Chapter (LUC) in the UK in 2012 on behalf of the UNITECH Alumni Association (UAA) with another student. He brings his knowledge and experience and will be supporting UNITECH activities managed by the Centre.
Furthermore, he will be promoting and supporting the student-led activities CONNECT and managing the EDEN FLIX screenings alongside the Centre's activities within the student body and beyond.
