Glynis is the Learning and Teaching Co-ordinator (Employability) for CEDE, the Centre for Engineering and Design Education.
She is responsible for developing and enhancing engineering education activity. Her particular focus is on producing and delivering student-specific support material, providing one-to-one support, enhancing student employability prospects, and undertaking educational research projects.
Glynis entered Loughborough University in 1999, after working in industry for over 20 years, to read for a Master of Mathematics degree. She graduated with a 2:1 honours classification in 2003 and remained at Loughborough University as a research student in the Mathematics Education Centre (MEC). In 2007 she was awarded a PhD for her research into ‘Mathematics Learning Support and Dyslexia in Higher Education’.
In 2006 Glynis was employed by the MEC and the Engineering Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (engCETL) as their Progression Project Officer. In this role Glynis was responsible for the day-to-day running of the Mathematics Learning Support Centre, the development and delivery of workshops and 3-day enterprise events for students and the provision of undergraduate level mathematics teaching in the form of tutorials and one-to-one support.
Since 2011 Glynis has been employed as CEDE's Learning and Teaching Co-ordinator for employability.
